Astrology, a Science of the Stars?

_DSC3390

This chart is my attempt at a cheat sheet for Astrology.  A topic that I’ve been looking into for a few years now.

Astrology’s etymology means, Science of the Stars. This scientific research concerns our solar system and the natural world that we live in.  It comes from an understanding that we are a directly effected by elements in our environment.

Civilizations all across the world have known and have payed their respects to the constellations of the Zodiac, which is the belt in the sky in which these ‘planets’, (a Latin word meaning wanderer), are constantly spinning around.

The Sun and Moon ride along this belt of the Zodiac as well.  It is one of the most observed phenomenons in human history.  There is a long tradition and many different interpretations of this science all around the world, especially in Egypt, India, China and Europe.  The twelve signs and the seven most visible wanderers; the Sun who plays it’s obvious role in our daily lives, as well as the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.  Although there are more planets farther away, they are not as visible to the naked eye, and also not as influential in our daily lives as the seven.

From my personal experience with astrology, I acknowledge that Southern Vedic, or Sidereal Astrology is more accurate than Western Astrology as far as birthcharts are concerned.  I lean towards the Western interpretations of the meaning of the placement of the planets and the houses.

Personally I believe the best use of astrology is for agriculture and the best sources of info for this is biodynamic gardening.

That’s all I have to say about it. Enjoy the cheat sheet!
